Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon bombing was one of the most devistating times in Massachussetts. It was when 2 brothers bombed the finish line to the Boston Marathon it killed 3 and injured hundreds more. But yet it ended up being a heartwarming event when other fans at the marathon would run over and help eachother and some marathon runners ran straight to the hospital to give blood to those who needed it. This was a very sad event but it will be remembered as everybody coming together to fight against this as one.

The bombers were later trying to flee from the cops and one was killed and the other captured. once again the United states stood on top even with the bombings in Boston. Millons of dollars have been donated to those who were injured so that they could fight through their injuries. This hasn't just affected Boston but its affected everyone over the world.

There was a very special moment that happened because of the Boston bombing. Jason Collins, a center for the Washington Wizards, came out as being gay. He addmitted to sports illistrated that the reason he came out was the Boston bombing because you never know when life can just end.  He is the first ever active player to come out as gay from a major sport.

Kevin Ware Injury

Kevin Ware jumped to contest the shot and landed with one of the most gruesome injuries of all time. Everyone on the court and watching the game knew the injury was very serious. Especially when you could see his bone puncture the skin and be able to see it. Before he was transported to a local hospital for surgery he brought his team close to him and told him that he would be fine and they just need to win this game.
Kevin just kept saying that all he cared about was winning the game, he didn't worry about the injury at all. He would end up watching the end of the game see his team dominant after his departure and speech. He would end up going into surgery and when he woke up his coach was there and so was the final four trophy. Louisville will be playing saturday versus underdog Witchita State with a chance to go to the NCAA championship game. They will be wearing warm up shirts that say "All in for #5".

The Cinderella's of College Basketball

As the buzzer sounds Florida Gulf Coast has convinceley beat Georgetown. Not only did they beat the heavily favored team that they were facing, but so did Harvard, La Salle, Oregon, Californa, Minnesotta, and Ole Miss. Upsets have always been a part of the NCAA tournament, but this yars is so much diffrent from the ones in the past. Most of teams seem equal for atleast a ten minute portion of the game which is suprising. Too go along with all these upsets Davidson, Southern, and Western Kentucky all brought their team to the wire.
This was just after the round of 64 that we had all these upsets, after the round of 32 we had 4 teams ranked 9 or higher left in the sweet sixteen. FGCU, the first 15 seed to make the sweet sixteen, looks like a championship contender. La Salle or Witchita State play eachother so atleast one team thats ranked 9 or higher will be in the elite eight.
The college basketball world is still wondering who is going to win this tourney because all 16 teams have a realistic chance to win it all. As we wonder if this will continue into the future, I highly doubt it because of the recruiting class that Kentucky has bringing in. But for now we will just sit back and watch the rest of the tournament.
